After a century of aging, the original surface of heart pine joists and beams creates an unmatchable rich, deep patina, which we capture in the production of our Dirty Top Heart Pine Flooring. We preserved the century-old surface with its impressive depth of color with special milling techniques. The characteristics of this floor include the original saw marks, color variation, random knots and nail holes. This most interesting flooring can easily complement a wide range of décor; from rustic to elegant.

High Patina

Just below the surface of the original natural aged and weathered patina is a significant layer of High Patina. This select flooring has had rough features such as saw and tool marks carefully removed to provide for a smoother texture, but still retains the treasures of color variations and age marks such as nail holes, rust marks, and water stains. Character Grade

Old Beam’s Character Grade Heart Pine Flooring has all of the characteristics people have come to associate with Antique Heart Pine. An eclectic mix of knots, nail holes, tiny dings and other small imperfections combine to create the warmth and beauty of this incredible wood. Rich color variation provides for a remarkably warm and rustic look that only antique heart pine can provide.

Premium Grade

One of our most popular floors, Premium Grade is similar to our Character Grade, but a bit more refined. With a higher concentration of heartwood as well as fewer and smaller distinctive markings, such as knots, our Premium Grade finds the balance of character and subtle personality; perfect in settings that call for a classic look.

Clear Select

  • Free of nail holes, wood stains and surface marks.
  • Even color variation.
  • Available as quarter sawn, plain sawn, or mixed.

Nearly devoid of knots and blemishes, Clear Select is our finest wood. Each piece is hand selected to assure consistency of color and texture. The knots, when they occur, are tiny. Nail holes, sap streaks, and mineral stains are almost nonexistent. Appropriate to both a contemporary and a traditional setting, this premier product will bring a mark of distinction to any home. Available with all quartersawn vertical grain, or with mixed grain.
